2018 Health & Fitness Goal w/ Deliver Lean

I DID IT — I was able to be plant based throughout the most difficult holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. Being able to keep it together and push forward with this new lifestyle felt rewarding during the holidays. It’s so difficult to avoid food that isn’t part of your diet when your family is feasting all the things you remind yourself not to eat. I wrote an article about my change of lifestyle and how I’ve been happier about it ever since. This year, I was able to compose myself (lol!) when it came to food that had chicken, meat, and pig…but I did it.

I am striving to carry this on as a 2018 fitness goal. How many of you, and be honest, hope for a healthier “I will get in shape next year” goal? I know I do this every single year. The difference for me is that I decided to give myself a jump start. WHY WAIT? I figured if I was doing this, I was going to start right away. There wasn’t a point in waiting.

I knew I wasn’t going to be cooking during Thanksgiving week, there’s always so much going on and even weeks without holidays I’ve got a million things to do. So for me, one of the best decisions was to partner with Deliver Lean. They are South Florida’s #1 Meal Delivery Service and luckily, I was able to order my meals on a their cutout day (Wednesday) for the following week. It was made very easy for me: I had my very own account where I was able to select 3 meals per day (all cost depend on type of meal). They have all the options you can imagine — Vegan, Paleo, Regular, Vegetarian, ext.

DAY 1 MONDAY

  5. Dinner: Quinoa Kale Salad w/ Craisins, Cucumbers &  Lemon Pistachio Pesto (278 calories, 7 g protein, 11 g of fat)

I had a lot of fun choosing my meals to be honest with you.

This was my favorite part of the entire process because I was able pick my “cheat day meal” and select something yummy to eat on a certain day that went according to my lifestyle. Though the kitchen has become a place I now enjoy to be, I don’t know about you, but food taste so much better when you don’t have to cook it. I did have a hard time with my breakfast options, a lot of the meals were new to me and I’ve never tried them before, some I loved some I didn’t, but it’s all about figuring out what’s best for you as you go on trying

If you’re part of the group pledging to ‘get in shape next year,’ my suggestion is to join Deliver Lean if you’re in the South Florida area. It’s reliable for the busy bee that can’t give up their Sunday to cook meals for a whole week. For others, look for a meal prepping service that can help you start 2018 with one foot in the right direction. Here is to hoping that we are all healthier both mentally and physically next year.
