I know I’ve talked about the battles I’ve had and continue to have with my skin. In high school, I never wore ANY makeup for fear that it will only give me more acne. In college, I started using makeup to cover the imperfections in my skin. As a graduate and now a late twenties adult, I wear my bare face and wear makeup because either option makes me happy. Getting to where I’m at has not been easy, it’s been a battle with my skin and one I’m very excited to share with you.

I’ve used about all the skin care products you can imagine, and sure, some of them have worked and some have not. What HAS helped me the most with my skin is the facials I’ve done since I decided my skin was not going to have the best of me. I’ve done regular face mask facials, micro facials, and recently one that I absolutely LOVED — HydraFacial.

Before my visit, I expected the facial to be like any other that I’ve done over the years. I was excited about it because I had a trip planned, and what better way to relax than to go for a little self-care session. Oh, boy was I wrong, it was even better than I expected.

The process was simple (30-45 mins max of a session), not the regular 1 hour long sessions I am used to.

  1. Cleanse + Peel: exfoliation of the surface to uncover a new layer of skin.
  2. Extract + Hydrate: Remove all the dead debris from pores with minimal pain.
  3. Fuse + Protect: Saturate the skin’s surface with antioxidants and peptides to maximize glow!

The entire process left my skin flawless and glowy. I texted a few of my friends the results and they couldn’t believe the difference in my skin — and honestly, neither could I.

Facials overall are fantastic if you’re struggling with acne. No product will provide long-term healthy skin like a good cleaning. I highly recommend HydraFacial, since it does not tailor to a specific skin type — it’s for all skin types, yes including oily ones like myself.

It’s been about a week now since the session, and I’ve received plenty of compliments only high school me would have dreamed of.  For more information on all the incredible benefits of a HydraFacial, please visit here.

So tell me, what’s your skin care routine like, are facials part of it?
