Art Basel will always have my heart. Although Miami Art Week is by far one of the busiest weeks of my life, it’s also one of the most magical to experience in this beautiful city I call home. One thing I definitely could have lived without though was the insane traffic all week. Luckily my friends over at Alto were able to drive us from event to event. Kicked off the week with Shops Shops x Daily Front Row. We had cocktails and an intimate dinner in celebration of the December issue at the W South Beach. Afterward we headed to the Confidante for a preview party for an early showing of artwork created by local graffiti artists.

We started the evening celebrating with Nespresso & Johanna Ortiz at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden.  After enjoying some cafecitos and an outfit change, our Alto driver took us to the opening night of YellowHeart x Scope where we got a VIP preview of cool art installations that would be open to the public later. We ended the night at an NFT after-party in Wynwood where Aminé performed live!

We can’t say no to a cocktail hour. Don Papa Rum invited us for Sunset Cocktails at The Standard. We had a delicious rum-infused mango sorbet and their Golden Hour cocktail. The vibes were immaculate. Next, we drove Downtown to the Flagler Street Art Festival that featured a lot of digital NFT artwork and murals. It was such a cool experience at night to see Downtown Miami transformed into an outdoor gallery.  We ended the night bar hopping in Wynwood.

This is the day I was looking forward to the most as I was finally able to host my Feel Free Be Yourself event live in person again at the Moxy Miami South Beach Hotel! This year’s theme explored how women are leading the way in sustainability and how we incorporate it into our daily lives now more than ever. I led a panel made up of women who are leading the way into sustainability in their fields: Dani Klaric (Interior Designer & Influencer), Colleen Coughlin (EcoFashion Director), and Yanira Pineda (Sustainability Manager of Miami Beach).

Attendees had the opportunity to swap clothes with Fika Creative Group’s Style Swap series. Each guest was allowed to bring up to 3 never used or lightly loved clothing items/accessories to the event and then had the opportunity to swap their items out for new pieces that were brought by the other attendees. All leftover clothing pieces from the swap went back to the Lotus House Women’s Shelter and in addition, a percentage of ticket sale proceeds are going towards funding a scholarship for all Latinx women who are applying for college or a grant for a small business startup!

When not swapping clothes, attendees mingled, danced to great music provided by our live DJ, browsed different local vendors that set up on the Moxy’s rooftop in partnership with our event, and we even had a raffle giveaway for an NFT.  Every attendee also went home with a tote bag filled with a ton of goodies!

After grabbing dinner, we went back to Scope Miami to view the rest of the amazing contemporary artwork on display. We then headed to Soho Beach House for Stella Artois x The 355 Art Basel Movie Preview. The last place we stopped at was Mana to meet up with friends and listen to live DJs and see local artists creating art live.

On Sunday we decided to take it easy after a long day of events and check out the installations around town before Art Week ended. First, we drove to the Design District where Chanel created a Labyrinth to mark the 100th anniversary of the Chanel No.5 perfume. After we went to Wynwood and walked around to take lots of photos before heading back to the beach to end our day viewing the beachfront outdoor gallery set up by Saint Laurent. It was such a beautiful way to end the amazing week.

Can’t wait to see what’s in store for next year!
