MY QUARANTINE SNACK – PEANUT BUTTER AND BANANA SMOOTHIE!

Alright, if you’ve been following me on my instagram stories (@chasingcarpediem) you know I’ve been having this healthy snack during my now (almost) 3-month-long quarantine. It’s been really hard to stay healthy during this time and I feel like I’m not alone in this. At the beginning, I was extremely anxious and I just kept eating at random times of the day. The few pounds I had shed earlier this year have happily made their way back into my body. I went through a tough time during the first month, and I’ve been very open about it in my last blog What In The Quarantine?

These few pounds can be stubborn, but so am I. Which is why, you’ve seen me have this snack instead of Madeleines haha! Now that I’m close to 3 months, it’s been easier to stay active (trying to workout doing sweat440 – highly suggest you subscribed to their mailing list, I receive daily workouts). I’m also not eating at crazy times of the day or hours. I’m back on a schedule and am enjoying my healthy meals again! The least thing I’ve done is pressure myself into feeling bad about this. It’s okay if you feel this. It’s okay to have gained a few pounds or gain them back in my case. We’ve all experienced something unreal aka a pandemic. So let’s throw the guilt right outside!

Now that we’re guilt free. Let’s make this snack together.  There’s two ways you can make this, all same ingredients, minus one — the protein powder. I use the brand ON Oats & Whey Oatmeal Protein Powder. If you want a heavy smoothie, you’ll add this powder, but if you don’t then you’ll be just find without it!

Ingredients:

  • 2 frozen bananas OR ice + regular bananas
  • 2/4 a cup of Oats & Whey Oatmeal Protein Powder
  • 2/4 of Pure Cacao Powder
  • A handful of almonds OR walnuts
  • 1 full spoon of Crunchy Peanut Butter Spread
  • 1 cup of non dairy milk or milk of your choice

Once it’s blended (I use my Nutribullet!) add it to your glass and sprinkle some cacao powder on top of it, add slices of bananas, and enjoy!

This is such a delicious snack or meal replacer to have. Let me know if you try it below!
